Racial disparities in housing access, housing ownership, and housing stability are a result of deep-rooted systemic racism. Racial Justice Commissioners welcome thought leaders to focus on how government can transform to overcome inequality for BIPOC New Yorkers, families, and communities in areas of homelessness, fair housing, homeownership, community development, housing rights, and housing quality or preservation. Commissioners will use this information to reshape how laws serve to equitably help New Yorkers have good and safe homes.
